McDonnell’s Advisers

Gov.-elect Bob McDonnell (R) has tapped several familiar names to offer input during his transition to office.

The long list of advisers includes several folks from Central Virginia and the Valley.

State Sen. Emmett Hanger (R-Augusta) is assisting on matters related to agriculture and forestry.

State Sen. Robert Hurt (R-Pittsylvania), who is seeking the Fifth District GOP congressional nomination, is an adviser on Commonwealth preparedness, military issues and economic development.

Del. David Toscano (D-Charlottesville) will assist on economic development issues.

Retiring Del. Chris Saxman (R-Staunton) will advise on education matters.

Former Rep. Virgil Goode (R-5th) is on McDonnell’s transportation team.
