NBC29’s Road to Richmond Coverage

Today and tonight, NBC29 will provide comprehensive coverage of this year’s important elections, with 10 crews fanned out across Virginia.

This morning, Jennifer Von Reuter is at Charlottesville polling places. Eric Fink caught up with Creigh Deeds in Millboro. Meanwhile, I was in Henrico County, as Bob McDonnell cast his ballot.

Deeds will be in Charlottesville at noon, where he’ll join Stacia Harris for a live interview.

Our special election coverage starts on NBC29 HD News at Five. We have a team of reporters in Richmond tonight: Matt Talhelm is with the Deeds campaign; Henry Graff is following Jody Wagner and Steve Shannon; Libby Allison is watching Bill Bolling and Ken Cuccinelli; and I am with the McDonnell camp.

In the Valley, Ken Slack is following two interesting House of Delegates races — the battle for Del. Chris Saxman’s open seat and Del. Steve Landes’ first major challenge in more than a decade.

Keith McGilvery is in Charlottesville, with Democratic campaigns for the House and for city council. Tracy Clemons is following the GOP sideĀ of those races.

Longtime political reporter Bob Gibson will join us to provide context to all of these important races. And look for interviews with Gov. Tim Kaine (D), RNC Chairman Michael Steele, RGA Chairman Haley Barbour and others.

We’ll break into regular programming as needed, and we’ll have live coverage from 10-11:30 p.m.
