With a week to go before Virginians elect their new governor, Republican Bob McDonnell’s momentum continues to grow.
A new Washington Post poll of likely voters has McDonnell ahead of Democrat Creigh Deeds by 11 points, 55 percent to 44 percent.
And campaign finance reports released Monday show the GOP nominee with nearly twice as much cash on hand through the first three weeks of October.
McDonnell raised a little more that $4 million during the period, finishing with $1.8 million in the bank. Deeds pulled in $3.1 million and had about $938,000 on hand.
