Rep. Tom Perriello (D-Virginia) is out with a proposal that the freshman lawmaker says will put “Southside and Central Virginia at the forefront of the clean energy economy.”
The Fifth District congressman said the region’s location, schools and people as reasons why the area should invest in renewable and alternative energy.
Perriello said federal legislation will yield “unprecedented investments in clean energy.”
The announcement comes as Perriello continues to take heat from Republicans for his support of President Barack Obama’s cap and trade energy bill.
