Saturday Campaigning

They say there’s no rest for the weary. Just ask the candidates for statewide office.

Democrats are kicking off their coordinated campaign with a major rally in Williamsburg. Gubernatorial nominee Creigh Deeds, lieutenant governor nominee Jody Wagner and attorney general nominee Steve Shannon will all be there. So will Gov. Tim Kaine and Rep. Glenn Nye.

Republican gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell is hitting the streets in NoVa today. McDonnell will knock on doors in Prince William County. Later, he’ll attend campaign events in Vienna and Burke.

I can’t stress enough how important Northern Virginia will be to a November victory. Clearly the candidates know that. Deeds was there Friday, McDonnell is there today and both parties have sent out memos touting its candidate’s strengths in the region.
