Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds is seriously considering moving his campaign headquarters to Northern Virginia, sources tell me.
Campaign spokeswoman Brooke Borkenhagen says plans aren’t yet final, but she says the move to NoVa is an option that’s on the table. She says an announcement will be made in the coming weeks. Regardless, Borkenhagen says the C’ville office will remain open and operational through the general election.
Moving to NoVa would make sense (sorry C’ville!) because the vote-rich area is crucial to a Deeds win in November. He won Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties in the primary. Republican Bob McDonnell has roots in NoVa and says he wants to be “the Northern Virginia candidate.”
